A place to stop performing
You may be highly capable and still feel anxious, exhausted, irritable, lonely, disconnected, or unsure what all your effort is for. Success does not make you immune to emotional pain. Sometimes it simply gives you more ways to conceal it.
Individual therapy offers a confidential place where you do not have to manage anyone else’s expectations. The focus is on understanding what is happening within you, how it developed, and what would allow you to respond with greater freedom.
More than quick fixes
Our work begins with conversation, but it is not casual conversation. We pay attention to emotions, relationships, patterns, decisions, defenses, and the pressures shaping your life now. I draw from psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic and existential approaches, and practical strategies from CBT and DBT.
That combination allows us to address immediate strain while also examining the deeper patterns that keep returning. The goal is not simply to help you tolerate an unsatisfying life more efficiently. It is to help you understand yourself well enough to create meaningful change.
Reasons professionals begin therapy
- Anxiety, inner pressure, or difficulty relaxing
- Burnout, professional dread, or loss of motivation
- Overthinking, perfectionism, or relentless self-criticism
- Relationship conflict, loneliness, anger, or emotional disconnection
- Career change, job loss, retirement, divorce, or another major transition
- Depression, emptiness, grief, or loss of meaning
What sessions are like
Sessions are collaborative, focused, and conversational. I listen carefully, ask direct questions, and help you notice connections that may be difficult to see from inside your own life. We can laugh when the moment allows it and remain with difficult material when that is what the work requires.
